Rhine comes up at Lobith, week's odds improve to 55%

The Lower Rhine at Lobith rose yesterday, and the chance of a sailing day going as planned this week moved up to 55 percent from 42 percent. November on the Rhine sits at 22 percent as planned, so low water is still the shape of the autumn. The Danube at Budapest dropped again and reads 3 percent as planned this week, which for most passengers means a lighter load, a coach transfer around a shallow stretch, or a day rearranged rather than a canceled river cruise.
