Rhine comes up 14 centimeters at Maxau

Rain fell over the Alpine headwaters yesterday and the Maxau gauge came up 14 centimeters to 302. The Upper Rhine is still at low water, and the chance of a sailing day going as planned this week is 1 percent, with October at 7 percent and November at 43. The Danube at Budapest is still very low, running at 12 percent as planned for October. Low water on these rivers usually means a lighter load, a swap to a sister ship with a coach between, or a day rearranged rather than a cruise canceled.
