Rhine hits its 144th low water day this season
The Elbe at Dresden came up seven centimeters overnight, to 57. The Rhine slipped again at Lobith, and this is now the lowest season in 30 years of records there, 144 days at low water against 96 in 2003. Rhine sailings this week carry a 1 percent chance of going as planned, which in practice usually means a swap to a sister ship with a coach in between rather than a canceled cruise. October as a whole sits at 10 percent as planned on the Rhine, with November at 45 percent.
