Rhine at Kaub drops to minus six centimeters

Further out the Rhine eases, with November at 45 percent going as planned and December at 63 percent. This morning Kaub read minus six centimeters, two lower than yesterday. The week ahead sits at 1 percent as planned and October as a whole at 14 percent, which in practice tends to mean a ship loading lighter, or passengers moving to a sister ship past the shallow stretch with a coach in between. The Elbe at Dresden dropped four centimeters to 53 and is now below the level where ships start having difficulty.
