Rhine still at low water despite a rise at Lobith

The Rhine came up at Lobith, with flow rising from 749 to 797 after rain in the Alpine headwaters two days ago. It is still low water, and the chance of a Rhine sailing day going as planned is 1 percent this week and 7 percent across September. October improves to 19 percent and December to 63 percent. The Danube at Pfelling slipped a centimeter to 223, where low water mostly means lighter loading or a swap to a sister ship with a coach in between.

This was the picture on Friday, September 18, 2026. The water moves daily, so if you are planning a cruise, start with today's check for your own dates rather than an older note.
