Danube week rises to 31 percent chance of sailing as planned
Rain fell over the Inn valley and the Bavarian Danube yesterday, 14.7 millimeters where 2.7 is normal for the date, and the Danube's odds of going as planned this week came up to 31 percent from 11. Kaub on the Rhine read 24 centimeters this morning, down a centimeter, and the Rhine sits at 1 percent as planned for the week. Low water like that usually means the ship loads lighter, or a coach ride past the shallow stretch to a sister ship. September on the Rhine is 13 percent as planned, October 29.
