Rhine at Kaub drops to 25 centimeters

The Danube's odds for this week eased overnight, from 4 percent to an 11 percent chance of sailing as planned. Rhine water levels went the other way. Kaub fell three centimeters to 25, and this week sits at a 1 percent chance of going as planned, which in practice means a ship loading lighter or a coach around the shallow stretch to a sister ship waiting above it. Further out the Rhine reads easier than the rest of September, with 52 percent as planned in November and 67 percent in December.
