Rhine odds of sailing as planned rise to 85 percent

Rain fell over the Alpine headwaters near Chur and Basel yesterday, 15.9 millimeters against a normal 3, and the Rhine came up at Lobith. The chance of a Rhine cruise day going as planned this week is now 85 percent, up from 70 yesterday. Danube water levels at Budapest are still low for late October, and this week sits at 10 percent as planned, so expect lines to lighten the ship or swap vessels with a coach in between. December looks easier on both rivers.
