Rhine odds this week improve to 11 percent as planned

Rain is due in the Alpine headwaters above Chur and Basel, 25.5 millimeters over the next week against a normal 19.9. Kaub came up a centimeter to 20, and the chance of a Rhine cruise day going as planned this week rose from 4 percent to 11. The river is still at low water, and has been for 161 days this season. The Danube at Pfelling is in much the same place at 17 percent as planned, which in practice means lighter loading or a coach around the shallow stretch.
