Rhine stays at low water after a rise at Lobith

The Rhine came up at Lobith, from 868 to 913 cubic meters a second, and the Alpine headwaters are due about 28 millimeters of rain this week, above normal for October. The Danube at Budapest rose as well. Both are still at low water, and on the Rhine the chance of a sailing day going as planned is 1 percent this week and 31 percent in November. At these levels a river cruise ship carries less weight, and some lines coach passengers past the shallow stretch to a sister ship.

This was the picture on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The water moves daily, so if you are planning a cruise, start with today's check for your own dates rather than an older note.
