Rhine comes up at Lobith but stays at low water

Rain reached the Alpine headwaters above Chur and Basel yesterday, a little more than normal for the date, and the Rhine at Lobith came up from 629 to 663. The river is still at low water, and the chance of a Rhine cruise day going as planned this week is 1 percent. That usually means lighter loading, or a swap to a sister ship past the shallow stretch with a coach ride in between. For October as a whole the figure is 11 percent, and November sits at 44.

This was the picture on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The water moves daily, so if you are planning a cruise, start with today's check for your own dates rather than an older note.
